Proliferation

Proliferation shows how concepts and ideas affect each other and create new ones. The way cells reproduce, level upon level, resembles the way thoughts do.

The installation is a colony of hybrid cells filled with modern gadgets. It shows the similarity between the organic structure of an ecosystem and that of a civilization.

Process

The cells began as sketches of dividing cells. Each one was shaped from balloons and sellotape, then filled with parts taken from electronic gadgets and linked to the others with hosepipes.
